Emergency Preparedness Training
The monthly virtual Emergency Preparedness Training at UC Santa Cruz will cover an overview of campus emergencies, roles and responsibilities, types of disasters, and emergency procedures. Participants will also learn about the university’s mass notification systems and available campus resources, all of which aim to improve response coordination and preparedness across the UCSC community.
800MHz Radio User Resources
The Campus 800 MHz two-way radio system is operated and maintained by Information Technology Services. The system supports both daily campus operations and communication redundancy during emergency or disaster events.
Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Training
The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program educates volunteers about disaster preparedness for the hazards that may occur where they live. CERT trains volunteers in basic disaster response skills, such as: Fire safety, Light search and rescue, Team organization, and Disaster medical operations
Environmental Health and Safety
EH&S provides training to UC Santa Cruz staff, faculty, and students in a variety of environmental, health, and safety topic areas.
Incident Command System (ICS) Training
Incident Command System training is required for University personnel with emergency response duties per the California Standardized Emergency Management System (SEMS) and the National Incident Management System (NIMS).
Workplace Violence Prevention Plan
The Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT) provides a workplace violence prevention plan.
Community Police Academy
The UC Santa Cruz Police Department’s Community Police Academy is a course that provides community members with an inside view of law enforcement practices, and specifically the operations of the UC Santa Cruz Police Department.
